May is National Better Hearing and Speech Month
People often think that speech therapists are just there to help you retrain your voice when in fact they do much more. Speech-language pathologists often known as SLPs help people who have problems with speech, language, thinking and swallowing. InSPIRe Rehab’s speech team has a variety of certifications and skills. A few specialties include but are not limited to; LSVT LOUD, Vital Stim, pediatric therapy, MBS study, and McNeill Dysphagia Method. The SLP team members are also members of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Jennifer Marshal stated that her treatment philosophy is “I pride myself on providing a patient centered, therapist guided approach to therapy. I focus on listening to concerns, empowering families, and truly caring to make a difference in the quality of living. I develop individual treatment plans that address functional outcomes for each patient. I am dedicated to providing a respectful and caring atmosphere which utilizes a holistic and collaborative approach that considers communication needs in the home, at work, or in the community. I believe it is essential to provide ethical and excellent therapy services to all my patients and their families and ensure they are treated with the upmost integrity, respect, and compassion. I feel this is my responsibility as a Speech Language Pathologist.” InSPIRe Rehab would like to wish the entire speech therapy team a happy better hearing and speech month!
